Pneumatic forklifts are generally known as pallet lift trucks or pump trucks and are widely used in warehouses and transport facilities to transfer resources on pallets. Pneumatic lifts consist of a set of steel forks mounted on a wheeled counterbalance that has a pump. The pump is used to raise and lower the forks.

Visually inspect the pallet truck prior to loading. Make sure the wheels are free of any likely obstructions. Also, ensure the handle moves smoothly and turns appropriately. Inspect the pallet before moving it to determine if it is stacked in a manner that minimizes the chance of anything falling off during lifting. Discharge any air in the pump and lower the forks to the ground by squeezing the lever installed on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the handle. Run the forks into the slots in the pallet and ensure the blades are centered so that the palletsâ?? mass is evenly distributed.

Pump the pneumatic jack handle up and down to raise the forks from the ground. Stop pumping as soon as the pallet is entirely off the floor as there is no need to lift it any higher or risk losing stability while turning. In order to progress the pallet, haul the handle behind you; don't push it. There will be a large amount of momentum existing. Refrain from quick or sharp turns and do not stop too suddenly. Gently bring the pallet to a stop where you would like to park it. Squeeze the lever inside the handle end to return the blades to the floor. Withdraw the forks and restore the pallet lift to a fitting parking area or continue onto the next job.
